Becky Burke’s radio can be a source of important tidbits of information about Arizona women’s basketball. In late February, the Arizona women’s basketball head coach mentioned that the team had an unannounced verbal commitment from an international player. Evidence pointed to Polish wing Karolina Ułan. That has proven to be correct after Ułan announced her commitment on Monday morning.

Ułan will come to Arizona from Polish club VBW Gdynia, where she has played in both the EuroCup and EuroLeague tournaments. In 2025-26, she appeared in 18 games for its top-level team, which plays in the Orlen Basket Liga Kobiet (OBLK). She also appeared in two games for its second-level team Gdynia2, which plays in the Liga1.

In OBLK play, she averaged 12.7 ppg on 41.5 percent shooting from inside the arc and 29.4 percent shooting for 3-point range. She hit 77.1 percent of her free throws. She also had 3.3 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game. She was good for 2.6 assists against 2.2 turnovers in 29.9 minutes per game.

OBLK is the same league where former Wildcat star Cate Reese played last season.

In her two games with Gdynia2, Ułan averaged 16.5 points in 17.5 minutes per game. She hit 75 percent of her 2-point shots and 27.3 perr

Ułan has been playing for the Polish national program since the 2021 FIBA U16 European Challengers. The 6-foot-1 forward has played as an U18 at the 2022 and 2023 European Championships for that age level. She was at the 2024 and 2025 U20 EuroBasket, as well. She finally made the jump to the senior national team roster for the 2027 EuroBasket Qualifiers.

In five FIBA youth events, she averaged 9.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per contest in 33 games. She had a strong debut at the U16 level when she contributed 11.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. The rebounds tied her career high at the youth level and her assists were just 0.1 below her career high.

Her best showing as a scorer was at the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket. She was good for 14.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, and 1.3 apg.

She appeared in three games with the senior national team during the qualifiers for next year’s EuroBasket. She averaged 3.7 points and 1.0 rebounds.

Ułan will be a freshman at Arizona, but she comes with age and experience. She turned 21 in January and has already spent several years playing against professionals.
