It was a busy Friday night in the OHL, with both the East and West finals in play.

An overtime victory for Kitchener saw them take a big 1-0 series lead at the Aud, while Barrie relied on their big guns to even up the series against the Bulldogs.

Here's all the action from an entertaining night.

The anticipated battle between the top two teams in the West got underway in Kitchener, with 7,363 fans packing out the Aud on a Friday night.

They were treated to a busy first period, starting off fast with an Anthony Cristoforo goal just 47 seconds in quieting down the crowd.

Alexander Bilecki and Dylan Edwards put the hosts on top and some life back into the building, before Nathan Villeneuve quieted it back down at the end of the frame with the 2-2 equalizer.

It would be the Spits who would jump back to the lead fairly late in the second, as Philadelphia Flyers prospect Jack Nesbitt sniped one to put his team back in front.

But with a late power play, the Rangers would even it up through Jack Pridham, who banged home a rebound with 11 seconds to go in the second to level things up at three.

Pridham really needed a goal, as the 46-goal man in the regular season had 10 assists through nine playoff games, but had yet to find a scoring touch of his own.

The teams would come in and out of a defensive third period tied at three, and game one would require overtime.

There, it was the always-clutch Sam O'Reilly who scored in front just eight seconds into a four minute power play to send the Kitchener fans home happy.

That goal was O'Reilly's playoff-leading 11th goal, and the biggest one of his Rangers career to date.

Game two goes Sunday evening, with the Rangers looking to defend home ice while the Spitfires look to grab the split.

Out East, game two of the star-studded series between the Bulldogs and Colts came out hot, with Marek Vanacker scoring on the power play to open the scoring.

Ben Wilmott would get the game level with a marker on the man advantage of his own, and the teams would head into the first intermission knotted at one.

It would be the visitors that jumped out to the lead in the second, with Brad Gardiner and Kashawn Aitcheson's goals giving them a 3-1 lead. Adam Jiricek would get one back late, but Barrie still had a one-goal lead heading into the third.

It was Utah Mammoth prospect Cole Beaudoin who would really put the game away in the third, with two goals, including a shorthanded tally. This gave the Colts a commanding 5-2 lead, and despite Jiricek's second of the game, Barrie hung on to a huge road victory.

They now head home with the series tied 1-1, and will look to use their own barn to grab their first lead of the series in game three on Sunday.
