The Players Era Festival is back with a bigger, bolder format that's sure to get college basketball fans buzzing. After listening to feedback, the tournament organizers have split the action into two brackets, both taking place in the entertainment capital of the world—Las Vegas, Nevada.
The first bracket kicks off the week of November 16th, featuring an eight-team field just before Thanksgiving. But the main event for Gonzaga fans? The Zags will headline a massive 16-team bracket during Thanksgiving week, starting November 23rd. And with ESPN now locked in as the exclusive broadcast partner, you won't miss a second of the action—especially with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) money on the line.
Gonzaga is guaranteed three high-major matchups, and the potential opponent list reads like a who's who of college hoops. The Zags could face reigning national champion Michigan Wolverines, along with powerhouses like Alabama, St. John's, Louisville, Tennessee, Iowa State, Miami, Texas Tech, Baylor, Maryland, Oregon, Creighton, San Diego State, TCU, and Kansas State. If they advance, a fourth championship game opportunity awaits in Sin City.
But the excitement doesn't stop there. Gonzaga's 2026-27 non-conference schedule is shaping up to be a gauntlet. Here's a sneak peek at what's on the horizon:
• vs. Purdue Boilermakers (Nov. 2, 2026, at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas)
• Players Era Festival (week of Nov. 23, 2026, at MGM Grand Garden Arena/Michelob ULTRA Arena, Las Vegas)
• vs. Michigan State Spartans (Dec. 19, 2026, at Acrisure Arena, Palm Springs, California)
• vs. Duke Blue Devils (Feb. 20, 2027, at Little Caesars Arena, Detroit)
• at Kentucky Wildcats (Rupp Arena, Lexington)
• at Creighton Bluejays (Chi Health Center, Omaha)
And keep an eye on potential matchups with UCLA and Oregon—those neutral-site showdowns are either set for 2026-27 or 2027-28. With a schedule this stacked, Gonzaga is clearly aiming for March Madness glory long before the calendar flips to spring.
