The Philadelphia 76ers fall short to the New York Knicks in Game 3 on Friday as they now face elimination.

The Philadelphia 76ers now face a daunting 3-0 series deficit after falling 108-94 to the New York Knicks in Game 3 on Friday night at the Xfinity Mobile Arena. With their backs against the wall, the Sixers needed a win to avoid the impossible—no team in NBA history has ever rallied from an 0-3 hole to win a series. But despite a promising start, the Knicks' composure and star power proved too much.

Philadelphia came out firing, building an early 12-point lead as the home crowd roared. But New York, led by Jalen Brunson's masterful 33-point, nine-assist, five-rebound performance, calmly erased the deficit and took control. Mikal Bridges added 23 points as the Knicks seized a 12-point lead of their own before halftime and never looked back. The Sixers now face elimination in Game 4.

Kelly Oubre Jr. led the Sixers with 22 points and eight rebounds, showing grit on both ends. Joel Embiid posted 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Tyrese Maxey added 17 points and seven assists. Paul George contributed 15 points and five rebounds, and rookie VJ Edgecombe chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds, flashing his explosive athleticism in transition with two highlight alley-oop slams.

Maxey was again a handful for the Knicks when he attacked the basket, using his lightning speed and quickness to finish over tough defense. But New York adjusted, forcing the ball out of his hands and daring others to beat them. Maxey was efficient when he did shoot, but the Knicks deserve credit for their game plan—they made him a playmaker first, limiting his scoring opportunities.

Edgecombe was a bright spot, using his elite speed to outrun defenders in transition and make an impact on defense. He made life tougher for Brunson than in the first two games, showing the kind of two-way potential that has fans excited. But for the Sixers, it was too little, too late. Now, they must win four straight to keep their season alive.
