Detroit — The Pistons had the night off, but one of their biggest fans didn't.
Tom Hur, the popular social-media personality from South Korea (@KoreaPistonsFan on X, formerly Twitter), took in his first Major League Baseball game Tuesday night at Comerica Park, and the Tigers gave him VIP treatment.
Before the game, Hur was brought on the field, where he was given a signed Team Korea World Baseball Classic by Tigers designated hitter Jahmai Jones, who played for Team Korea this spring.
Then, Hur was given tickets right behind home plate, in the uber-luxury Priority Club, to watch the series opener between the Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Hur has become a welcomed visitor every time he travels the 7,000-some miles to Detroit, usually to watch the Pistons, like in this first-round playoff series against the Orlando Magic. But the city's other professional sports teams (and many Detroit restaurants) have treated him like royalty, too.
While Tuesday was his first major-league game, it wasn't his first time at Comerica Park. During a trip to Detroit in October 2025, the Tigers invited him to the park and presented him some swag.
The Lions and Red Wings have done the same, and last fall, Pistons owner Tom Gores treated him to a shopping spree at Little Caesars Arena.
Hur is expected back at LCA for Game 2 of the Pistons-Magic series on Wednesday at LCA.
Jones played in five games for Team Korea in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, with five hits, including a home run. He is eligible to play for Team Korea because his mother, Michelle, was born in South Korea.
