Nineteen turnovers proved too many for the Cavs to overcome in Game 1.

The Detroit Pistons came out firing on all cylinders in Game 1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, turning a fast start into a hard-fought 111-101 victory Tuesday night. With this win, Detroit extends its postseason winning streak to four games and takes an early 1-0 lead in the second-round playoff series.

From the opening tip, the Pistons looked unstoppable, building on the momentum from their dominant Game 7 win over the Orlando Magic just days earlier. Detroit's defense immediately put the clamps on Cleveland's high-powered offense, forcing turnovers and converting them into easy buckets. By the end of the first quarter, the Pistons had built a commanding 37-21 lead, thanks in large part to a 6-0 advantage in takeaways.

But the Cavaliers weren't about to roll over. After Detroit's offense cooled off, Cleveland slowly chipped away at the deficit, refusing to let the game turn into a blowout at Little Caesars Arena. The Cavs mounted an impressive 11-0 run, fueled by nine points from James Harden, to tie the game at 93-93 after trailing by as many as 18 points.

That's when Pistons star Cade Cunningham re-entered the game and delivered the spark his team needed. He led a decisive 6-0 run that swung the momentum back in Detroit's favor, and the Pistons never looked back.

Ultimately, it was Cleveland's sloppy play that proved to be their undoing. The Cavaliers committed a staggering 19 turnovers, which not only disrupted their offensive flow but also put them at a significant disadvantage in shot attempts. The Pistons finished with 84 field-goal attempts compared to Cleveland's 80, and a whopping 35-16 edge in free-throw attempts. Detroit capitalized on those extra opportunities, hitting enough shots down the stretch to secure the win and take control of the series.
