Matheus Cunha has taken to social media to shut down a bizarre rumor that he would miss the rest of the season due to a supposed agreement between Manchester United and the Brazil national team.

The forward, who joined United from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer, has been in fine form this season. His stunning strike in Sunday's 3-2 victory over Liverpool brought his tally to nine goals and two assists in 30 appearances. Since Michael Carrick took over as manager in January, Cunha has elevated his game, making the left-wing position his own with his versatility and flair.

The strange speculation emerged on Monday, suggesting United had struck a deal with Brazil's football federation to rest Cunha for the final three Premier League matches. The claim was that this would give him maximum recovery time ahead of this summer's World Cup in North America. Cunha had missed United's win over Brentford last week with an injury but returned to face Liverpool.

However, the 26-year-old quickly put the rumor to rest. On Tuesday morning, he posted a photo on social media showing himself celebrating in United's home kit, geotagged in Manchester, with a laughing emoji and the caption, "What?"

It's clear there's no truth to the story. As long as Cunha is fit, Carrick will continue to rely on him. After the Liverpool win, Carrick emphasized his squad's focus on finishing the season strong and collecting as many points as possible.

United's next challenge comes Saturday when they travel to Sunderland. With Cunha in the lineup and firing, fans can expect more attacking fireworks.
