Pickerington Central tennis player Austin Bruey was selected the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Boys Athlete of the Week for April 13-19.

Bruey went 4-0 to improve to 9-0 on the season. He lost only five games in his four matches with three 6-0 set wins.

Bruey received 62.1% of the vote and was followed by Buckeye Valley track and field athlete Austin Browning, who received 30.1%.

Also nominated were Granville baseball player Wilson Wells and Newark baseball player Brody Randall.

Browning, the runner-up, broke four school records in a week, including the 400 meters (49.78), 110 hurdles (14.83), 300 hurdles (38.88) and 4x100 (42.94 in second leg). He also finished second in the 4x400 (48.5 first leg, team time 3:28.34)
