The Phillies are going to make some trade moves at some point this season. This deal would get rid of a player that has been rumored to be on the move for some time.

The Philadelphia Phillies have had an emotional rollercoaster of a season so far. After a sluggish start that saw the team fire its manager, the club has recently shown signs of life. But before that turnaround, they endured one of the worst stretches in baseball—an eight-game losing streak that left them tied for the worst record in the National League. According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Phillies also owned the league's worst run differential at -50, a full 15 runs worse than anyone else.

As the season progresses, the front office may look to shake things up. One name that keeps popping up in trade chatter is third baseman Alec Bohm. "Easily the biggest name on this list," wrote FanSided's Zachary Rotman. "I know Bohm has been in trade rumors for quite some time now with Phillies fans eager for a shake-up, but this is the first time it feels like something just must happen. It just isn't working."

That sense of inevitability has led to some interesting hypothetical deals. One trade pitch from SI's Patrick McAvoy has the Phillies sending Bohm—a $10.2 million All-Star rental—to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for left-handed pitcher Robert Gasser and top-10 prospect Josh Adamczewski.

The Brewers make sense as a trade partner. Despite having young stars like Jackson Chourio, Andrew Vaughn, and Christian Yelich in the lineup, Milwaukee has hit just 27 home runs this season—the lowest total in the majors. "As the season progresses, the Brewers should be in the market for another big bat," McAvoy noted. "Third base would be an intriguing place to look."

For Phillies fans, the idea of moving Bohm isn't new—but the timing feels right. A trade now could bring back young talent while freeing up playing time for other options. Whether or not this specific deal gets done, one thing is clear: the Phillies are ready to make a move, and Bohm's name is likely to stay in the headlines until a deal is struck.
