The PGA Tour's 2027 winter schedule is starting to take shape, and if you're a fan of consistency, you're in luck—it looks a lot like this year's lineup, with one notable exception: Hawaii is out.
The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is the latest event to lock in its dates, joining a West Coast swing that feels familiar. The American Express in La Quinta, California, will once again anchor the third full week of January. Meanwhile, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Feb. 4-7) and the WM Phoenix Open (Feb. 11-14, coinciding with Super Bowl weekend) have already posted their dates online.
As always, the early-season calendar revolves around the Masters, scheduled for April 8-11. That major will be followed by the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town and the Zurich Classic, keeping the spring tradition alive.
But here's where things get interesting: Florida remains the big question mark. The Players Championship is set for March 11-14, but beyond that, the Sunshine State's schedule is a puzzle. Adding to the intrigue is the return of Doral to the tour—though it looks nothing like the Doral of old. The course still features plenty of water and planes descending on nearby Miami International Airport, but the vibe has shifted dramatically.
At the recent Cadillac Championship, five of the world's top 15 players were absent, and the crowds that once packed the Blue Monster—even when Tiger Woods wasn't winning—were nowhere to be found. The PGA Tour last visited Doral in 2016, and LIV Golf has drawn better attendance there over the past four years.
To make matters worse, Formula 1 was in Miami the same weekend, drawing nearly 275,000 spectators over three days. Add in some dodgy Sunday weather and Cameron Young's six-shot victory, and the event lacked the drama it once had.
It's looking increasingly likely that major changes to the PGA Tour won't arrive until 2028. For now, the tour must decide how quickly it can move the Cadillac Championship back into the Florida swing that leads into Masters season. Currently, Florida hosts four events: the Cognizant Classic at PGA National, the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, The Players, and the Valspar Championship—which still draws a strong field despite its tough date, thanks to Innisbrook's reputation as a proper test.
Is there room for Doral? That's a question with plenty of moving parts, and CEO Brian Rolapp didn't have answers when he addressed the issue last August. For now, the 2027 winter schedule feels like a holding pattern—familiar, but with a few mysteries yet to unfold.
