Rory McIlroy's bid for back-to-back major titles hit a minor snag Tuesday when he cut his practice round short at the PGA Championship—stopping after just three holes due to a painful blister on his right foot.

The world No. 3, who arrived at Aronimink Golf Club on Monday evening, was seen removing his right shoe on the course, raising immediate concern among fans and analysts alike. McIlroy first mentioned the issue after his final round at the Truist Championship in Charlotte two days earlier, where he was noticeably limping.

"I've got a blister on my pinky toe on my right foot," McIlroy explained Sunday. "But it's underneath my nail. So I can't really get to it. So it's a little sore, but I'll be all right."

While the timing is less than ideal—especially for a player chasing his second consecutive major and third PGA Championship title—McIlroy didn't address his foot health during Tuesday's press conference. He had played the course two weeks ago, but Tuesday's abbreviated session means he hasn't completed a full practice round this week.

For now, the plan remains unchanged. McIlroy is scheduled to tee off Thursday at 8:40 a.m. alongside Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth, one of the most anticipated groupings of the championship. Whether that blister becomes a footnote or a factor remains to be seen, but if there's one thing golf fans know, it's that a little pain won't stop a champion from chasing history.
