
PERU — The Nighthawks earned victories against the Knights in tennis Wednesday.
Peru won by scores of 5-0 and 4-1 in boys’ and girls’ tennis, respectively.
There were three forfeits by the knights in the boys’ matches.
In the matches played, the Nighthawks’ Collin Powers in the No. 1 singles and Camden Sweeney and Isaac Hathaway in the No. 1 doubles won easily.
The match of the day came in the No. 1 girls’ match. After nearly two hours, Seton Catholic’s Grace Bleeker defeated Allie Brubach 7-6 (7-1), 3-6, 7-6 (7-4).
Madison Mero and Olivia Gauthier in the No. 1 doubles improved to 3-0 on the season and earned Peru a point. Mia Winters and Brooke Taptick in the No. 2 doubles sealed the win for the Nighthawks.

ELLENBURG — Northern Adirondack grabbed two hard fought wins against AuSable Valley.
AVCS’ lone win came in the No. 1 singles as Liam MacDougal defeated Kacy Hatch.
NAC scored the remainder of points with Jake Manor winning the No. 2 singles and Shane Gilmore and Kameron Chinchilla winning the No. 1 doubles.
On the girls’ side, AuSable won the No 1. singles match as Ardyn Post won in three sets. The second point for the Patriots came from the No. 1 doubles pairing of Becca Uss and Veronica Uss.
The Bobcats got the decisive three points with Lilly Davies winning the No. 2 singles. Bella LaBombard and Abby Brooks along with Emalynn Myers and Kinsley Trombley won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively.
“This was a great win for the Bobcats,” NAC girls’ tennis coach Jess Barnhart said. “Our girls played hard and made great decisions and adjustments. I am very proud of our girls.”
