Atalanta director Luca Percassi is keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to the future of key figures at the club, including director Tony D’Amico and coach Raffaele Palladino. With both names swirling in transfer rumors—D’Amico linked to Milan and Roma, and Palladino’s position under scrutiny—Percassi insists the club will wait until the season’s end to make any decisions.
The timing couldn’t be more critical. Atalanta, who soared to the Champions League Round of 16 this season, have stumbled badly in recent weeks. They’ve managed just two points from their last four Serie A matches and were knocked out of the Coppa Italia semifinals by Lazio on penalties. As a result, their European hopes are hanging by a thread, making every remaining game a must-win.
“Rumors are part of this world,” Percassi told DAZN Italia. “What we can say is that D’Amico has done very well for Atalanta, but with all due calm and focus, we will sit down and make decisions at the end of the season. There isn’t long to go, so we want to concentrate on these remaining matches and then decide once that is done, as is our tradition.”
The same goes for Palladino, who took over after Ivan Juric was sacked earlier in the campaign. “We have always been very clear with the coach. I like to discuss these things once the season is completed, and we will do that this time too,” Percassi added. “The dialogue is open and there is an honest rapport.”
For now, the focus is on securing seventh place in Serie A, which could still lead to a spot in the Conference League—but only if Inter beats Lazio in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday. As Atalanta prepares to face AC Milan at San Siro (kickoff at 19.45 UK time), every match is a chance to turn the tide.
“Every match is an opportunity to clarify the situation,” Percassi said. “Our ambition is to keep growing, so we’ll see how the season ends. We need to defend seventh place—all I can say is that we want to do well.”
With the season winding down, Atalanta’s future leadership and direction remain uncertain, but one thing is clear: the decisions made in the coming weeks will shape the club’s path forward. For fans and followers, it’s a tense wait to see who stays and who goes.
