Pep Guardiola has offered an encouraging update on Rodri's recovery from a groin injury, though he stopped short of confirming the midfielder's availability for Monday's Premier League clash at Everton. The Spanish international, who won the 2024 Ballon d'Or, has missed City's last two matches—a league win over Burnley and an FA Cup semi-final victory against Southampton—after picking up the problem in last month's 2-1 win over Arsenal.

"He is getting better. Still he hasn't trained, so we will see in the next few days," Guardiola said during Friday's pre-match press conference. The City boss also provided updates on Ruben Dias, who has been sidelined since mid-March with a thigh injury, and long-term absentee Josko Gvardiol. "Ruben is not yet with the team. Him, Josko, and Rodri are getting better," he added.

The timing couldn't be more critical for City, who trail Arsenal by three points in the title race. With the Gunners set to face Fulham on Saturday evening, Guardiola knows only a win will keep the pressure on. The team travels to Everton's new Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time, facing a Merseyside side enjoying a resurgence under David Moyes. "Old Everton was so cool and so British, and I loved to go there, but in the new stadium they are defending really well and always it has been tough," Guardiola noted. "In recent weeks, Everton have had very good results and are fighting for a place in Europe."

As the Premier League season reaches its dramatic conclusion, City's depth will be tested. For fans looking to show their support, now is the perfect time to gear up in the latest City kit—whether for the trip to Goodison Park's successor or the final home match against Aston Villa, where a title-deciding moment could await.
