Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has given fans a crucial fitness update ahead of Saturday's Premier League showdown with Brentford, as the Blues look to bounce back from a frustrating week.

City were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw by Everton on Monday night—a result that has put a significant dent in their title hopes. With just four games remaining, Guardiola's side now trail Arsenal by five points, though they do have a game in hand. All eyes will be on the London Stadium this Sunday as West Ham face the Gunners, with City hoping for a favor from their London rivals.

Despite the setback, the squad remains focused on a historic finish. Having already secured the Carabao Cup in March and booked their place in the FA Cup final after a comeback win over Southampton, City are still chasing a domestic treble.

In better news, defensive duo Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol have both returned to full training this week after recovering from hamstring and tibial injuries respectively. However, midfield anchor Rodri did not train on Friday, casting doubt over his availability for the Brentford clash. The Spanish international was absent from the matchday squad against Everton despite traveling to Merseyside, where he shared a touching moment with on-loan forward Jack Grealish before kick-off.

Antoine Semenyo, who started on the right wing against Everton after shaking off his own fitness concern, is expected to retain his place against a Brentford side that impressed last weekend with a 3-0 win over West Ham.

Speaking in his Friday press conference, Guardiola remained cautious: "We'll see this afternoon," he said, keeping fans guessing until the final team sheet.
