Penn State's recruiting momentum continues to build in the Class of 2027, with the Nittany Lions landing their second running back commitment in just one week. Three-star halfback Chukwuma Odoh has announced his pledge to join the program, adding depth and power to an already promising backfield.
The day began on a sour note for Penn State, as four-star quarterback Peter Bourque—a top-10 signal caller in the class—chose Virginia Tech over the Nittany Lions after months of recruitment. But the coaching staff quickly turned the page, securing Odoh's commitment just hours later. At 6-foot-0 and 220 pounds, Odoh brings a physical, between-the-tackles style that complements the explosive skill set of four-star running back Aiden Gibson, who committed earlier in the week.
Odoh's recruitment was relatively brief, with Penn State extending an offer just a couple of months ago. Yet the Nittany Lions won out over Kentucky, as Odoh announced his decision with a simple message: "All Glory To God 💙🤍🦁." He becomes the latest piece in what is shaping up to be one of the nation's top recruiting classes.
With nearly 20 commitments already on board for 2027, Penn State is building a roster loaded with talent across multiple positions. The running back room, in particular, looks set for a bright future with Gibson's dynamic playmaking and Odoh's powerful downhill running. The Nittany Lions still have work to do, especially at quarterback, but the foundation is strong for a class that could finish among the best in the country.
