In another incredible day of recruiting prowess, the Nittany Lions landed yet another homegrown talent. Today, Penn State was able to sign three star offensive tackle Ryan Robbins out of Pittsburgh. This is a special signing as it comes the day of the Blue White Game. Robbins also becomes the seventh player in the last two weeks to commit to Penn State.
Robbins is a 6-6, 270 pound tackle from Upper St. Clair who was also a basketball prospect as well. He was ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania and is the 67th ranked offensive tackle in the state. He is only the 723rd ranked player in the nation, but he joins a talented crop of O-line commits from the past couple of weeks in Jon Sassic and Owen Reilly. His firs official visit to campus will come on June 19 after an unofficial visit on March 31.
Robbins grew particularly fond of the coaching staff during the recruitment process and had much to say about how they swayed his decision. "I chose Penn State because I have a great relationship with the coaches," Robbins said, as per 247Sports. "I really see myself playing for coach Clanton." The O-line coach will surely love to have a guy like Robbins on board.
