The preliminary heats for the high girls relay events took place Thursday at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., and now it's time for the championships on Friday.
Friday's highlights include the various Championship of America races, including the team relay finales in the 4X100, 4X400, and 4X800 events.
The evening will then bring a close to the high school girls program at the 2026 Penn Relays with the running of the individual distance events, including the Mile Run Championship and the 3000M Championship.
This year marks the 130th running of the Penn Relays, an event that dates back to April 21, 1895. It's the oldest track and field competition staged in the United States with more than 15,000 athletes competing annually and at least 100,000 spectators regularly attending across the event's three days.
The high school portion of the Penn Relays will continue through Saturday when the final boys events are staged including the 4X400 relays and the Championships of America in all the relay events.

The 2026 Penn Relays will not be broadcast on television. Instead, fans can stream the action exclusively on FloTrack all weekend.
The championships for the girls running events will take place Friday starting at 2 p.m. with the 4X100 relay championships.
The premier events will be the relay Championships of America in the 4X100, 4X400, and 4X800.
Four Jamaican quartets highlight the field with three Maryland squads also in the starting blocks.
The 4X400 field also features four Jamaican teams along with one from The Bahamas. But two Maryland contingents from Bishop McNamara and The Bullis School give both those programs a shot at both the 4X100 and 4X400 titles. Pennsauken of New Jersey also made the final in both events.
Jamaica will also be well-represented in the 4X800 championship with a total of four squads from the Caribbean island in the finale. But the home state of Pennsylvania also has three quartets running in this event in front of the home crowd.
