As the MotoGP circus rolls into Le Mans for the French Grand Prix, all eyes are on the weather—and KTM's Pedro Acosta couldn't be happier about it. The young Spanish sensation has declared his RC16 "spectacular in the rain," a timely endorsement given the gloomy forecasts threatening to drench the weekend's action.

"In the rain, this bike is spectacular," Acosta told media on Thursday. "It's the best conditions for the bike, in the water." With predictions of a wet Sunday—and possibly a damp Saturday—Acosta's confidence couldn't come at a better moment. A rainy race could be his golden ticket to that elusive first premier-class victory.

But don't count KTM out if the skies clear. Acosta and teammate Brad Binder are buzzing after a productive test session at Jerez, which followed the Spanish Grand Prix. Both riders believe the Austrian brand has found crucial dry-weather pace, and they're eager to prove it on Friday.

"I'm quite excited to get started here," said Binder. "After the test in Jerez we found some things that felt a little bit better. So it'll be pretty cool to see if it works well here." The South African knows a thing or two about rain success, having won in wet conditions before, but he's not banking on a repeat. Instead, he's focused on the bike's newfound composure.

"One area we improved was just the calmness of the bike, especially on throttle. We could keep the grip a little bit better, and we did something to be a little bit cleaner in the braking areas," Binder explained. "I still wasn't able to go super fast with it, but it felt better. So yeah, quietly confident for this weekend."

Acosta echoed that optimism in his English briefing, painting a picture of a team ready to tackle whatever the French weather throws their way. Whether it's a wet thriller or a dry showdown, KTM's orange army is geared up and ready to race.
