The New England Patriots wrapped up rookie minicamp this past Sunday, and the team's newest additions—nine draftees and 12 undrafted free agents—are now set to join the veterans on the roster. But before they fully introduced themselves to the rest of the squad, five rookies who signed their contracts ahead of Saturday's rainy practice took a moment to share their names, backgrounds, and a few fun facts with the media.

Leading off was fifth-round cornerback Karon Prunty, who revealed he's the youngest child in his family—with five older sisters. That dynamic, he joked, created a competitive environment at home. "Definitely got to get to the bathroom first," Prunty said with a smile.

Two of New England's other Day 3 picks also shared heartwarming family updates. Seventh-round running back Jam Miller recently got engaged the day after Valentine's Day. He and his fiancée, Chloe, have been together since his freshman year at Alabama. Meanwhile, sixth-round offensive tackle Dametrious Crownover is expecting a baby boy with his wife, Makenzie, due this Thursday. The 6-foot-7, 318-pound lineman noted the baby is projected to weigh between eight and nine pounds based on the latest scan. Though Crownover was needed in Foxboro for minicamp, he assured reporters his wife is well taken care of back home. He plans to return to Texas soon before bringing his family to New England. "I'll stay for a few days and I'll come back," Crownover explained. "Then in about three weeks, two weeks, my wife and my son will come up and we will probably move into an apartment or something up here."

For some rookies, the trip to New England was a brand-new experience. Sixth-round linebacker Namdi Obiazor, who didn't make a pre-draft visit to Gillette Stadium, shared his first impressions. "This is my first time in New England, Boston area," Obiazor said. "I'm from Minnesota so it's kind of a little bit the same—north, just kind of east coast more than the midwest." Fellow seventh-round selection Behren Morton, a quarterback from Texas, was one of the players who did visit Foxboro before the draft. As the Patriots continue to build for the future, these rookies are already making their mark both on and off the field.
