New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte has come up in trade conversations around the NFL, according to insider Jordan Schultz.

Boutte is entering the final year of his rookie deal, and not much has been said publicly about a possible contract extension. The Patriots signed Romeo Doubs in free agency, and on Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the team is likely to agree on a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for three-time All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown.

Both of those moves potentially being on the table have left some teams thinking that Boutte could be made available for the right price.

Doubs is a versatile player capable of working inside or outside, which gives the Patriots a lot of flexibility when it comes to roster building.

They could keep Brown, Boutte and Doubs on the team and create one of the best receiving corps the team has seen in years. But if they don't plan on extending Boutte, they could be pushed into a position where they'd rather get something than nothing for a player who might make more money playing elsewhere.
