The New England Patriots have a long history of creative schedule release videos, but their 2026 edition might just be their most heartwarming yet. This year, the team turned the spotlight on some four-legged stars from Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, giving shelter dogs a chance to shine—and potentially find their forever homes.

The 90-second video features a playful pack of rescue pups running, wrestling, and chasing toys in the shelter's outdoor space at 500 Legacy Farms North. As the dogs romp around, an announcer delivers energetic football-style play-by-play commentary, introducing each of the Patriots' 2026 opponents. Every toy in the video represents a different team on the schedule, turning a simple game of fetch into a full-blown NFL preview.

Baypath's Marketing Coordinator, Maddy Berthold, told the Daily News that the dogs brought plenty of enthusiasm to the shoot. "They were alternating between seeking attention from the camera crew and diving into the pile of toys," she said. "It's really awesome. We use our social media to get the word out, but something we always see is that even for a long-stay dog, they often find their home through someone sharing a post. Knowing this will get 10 times the audience we usually get is just huge."

The video has already racked up hundreds of thousands of views across the team's social media platforms since its release on May 14. And the impact has been immediate: three of the most-featured dogs—Willow, Clover, and Tadashi—have already been adopted. Willow and Clover, who appear in several scenes wrestling over toys, quickly became two of the video's breakout stars.

Berthold also shared a fun behind-the-scenes detail: one dog named Owala took a special liking to the Miami Dolphins toy, happily rolling around with it during filming. Meanwhile, two other pups, Jake and Smiley, didn't make the final cut but left a lasting impression by soaking up all the attention from the crew. "They definitely made an impression," Berthold added with a laugh.

For Patriots fans and dog lovers alike, this schedule release is a win-win. Not only does it build excitement for the upcoming season, but it also gives these rescue dogs a platform to find loving homes. And in a league where every play counts, this one might just be the most meaningful of all.
