Patriots' Free Agency Signing Praises Mike Vrabel: 'I Love Him'

The 26-year-old signed a four-year, $68 million contract with the New England Patriots in March.

When you sign a four-year, $68 million contract with a new team, you hope the head coach is someone you can rally behind. For new New England Patriots wide receiver Romeo Doubs, that hope has become a reality—and he's not shy about sharing it.

"I love him," Doubs said Tuesday of Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. "Very energetic dude. Players coach… I'm just very blessed and fortunate to be around him."

Doubs, who joined the Patriots in March as a marquee free agency signing, is just two months into his tenure in New England. But the 26-year-old pass-catcher has already developed a strong bond with his new sideline leader, even as Vrabel has navigated off-field headlines in recent weeks.

The praise for Vrabel doesn't stop with Doubs. Offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker, another key offseason addition, echoed similar sentiments in late April, describing the two-time AP Coach of the Year as "very honest with us, very open as well."

For now, Doubs is projected to lead the Patriots' wide receiver corps on the depth chart. But that could change quickly come June, when New England is expected to finalize a trade for Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown—a move that would instantly reshape the receiving room.

Whether he remains the top target or slides into a supporting role, Doubs seems ready to buy in. And with a head coach who has already earned his trust and admiration, the foundation for a strong season in Foxborough is taking shape.
