ESPN said the Patriots' schedule is the fifth hardest in the NFL this season. Here's what it looks like.

The New England Patriots' 2026 schedule is out, and let's just say it's not for the faint of heart. ESPN has already ranked it as the fifth toughest in the NFL this season, meaning the road ahead is paved with challenges. But for a team coming off a 14-3 season and a Super Bowl appearance—where they fell to the Seattle Seahawks—there's plenty of reason to believe they're up for the fight.

At the helm is quarterback Drake Maye, now entering his third year and looking sharper than ever. He'll have some fresh faces to work with, too. The Patriots made some savvy moves in the draft, starting with first-round pick Caleb Lomu, an offensive tackle out of Utah selected 28th overall. They also added edge-rusher Gabe Jacas, tight end Eli Raridon, and cornerback Karon Prunty, among others. These new additions could be the key to weathering a storm of a schedule.

So, who's on the docket? The season kicks off with a bang: a Super Bowl rematch against the Seahawks in Seattle on September 9 at 8:20 p.m. on NBC. From there, it's a gauntlet of marquee matchups. Here's the full slate:

Sept. 20: Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium, 1 p.m.
Sept. 27: at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m.
Oct. 11: Las Vegas Raiders at home, 1 p.m.
Oct. 22: at Chicago Bears, 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)
Nov. 1: at Miami Dolphins, 4:25 p.m.
Nov. 8: Green Bay Packers at home, 4:25 p.m.
Nov. 15: vs. Detroit Lions at FC Bayern Munich Arena in Germany, 9:30 a.m. ET
Nov. 29: at Los Angeles Chargers, 8:20 p.m. (NBC)
Dec. 10: Minnesota Vikings at home, 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)
Dec. 21: at Kansas City Chiefs, 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)

ESPN's schedule rankings placed the Patriots at 27th easiest out of 32 teams—essentially the fifth hardest. Only the Chicago Bears have a tougher path. For Patriots fans, it's a season that demands grit, but with a rising star at quarterback and a roster reloaded through the draft, there's plenty to be excited about. Gear up—it's going to be a wild ride.
