"I'm proud of the lads, of the performance, and of the energy the fans gave us," Cuesta told Sky Sport after the match. "What happened is obvious—everyone saw it. I think Parma deserves respect because it's a historic club."

"There's a very obvious dynamic from 2-1 to 2-3 that doesn't just involve incidents in the box but every time we went ahead. The foul on Pellegrino? Too obvious."

Statistics painted a picture of a competitive contest, with Parma outshooting Roma 7-3 in the first half. "In the first half we shot 7 times and they shot 3," Cuesta noted. "In the second half, they shot more. However, we were able to press more aggressively, but it was in the first half that we really went for the shot."
