Are the Panthers in need of a uniform redesign?

The Carolina Panthers have been rocking the same basic look since 1995, but one uniform expert thinks it's time for a change. Andrew Lind of SportsLogos.net recently highlighted the defending NFC South champions as a team overdue for a uniform redesign—and he's got some bold ideas.

While many fans dream of seeing claw marks worked into the design, Lind acknowledges the staying power of a 31-season look. His main suggestion? Swap out those UCLA-style stripes for a shoulder design that actually wraps around the arm. "Don't tell us Nike can't do it," he says, "they simply choose not to."

The black alternate helmets, which debuted to huge applause in 2022, would need a tweak if they become the primary look: adding white eyes and teeth to match the team's logo everywhere else. Lind also proposes a fresh "process blue" alternate helmet with black stripes and a black facemask—and no, he insists, not every team needs a white helmet in the mix.

The Panthers have actually been open to experimentation lately, mixing and matching jerseys, pants, and socks more often since introducing that popular black helmet. But with five teams—the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Rams, Tennessee Titans, and Washington Commanders—already rolling out new or updated uniforms for 2026, the question is whether Carolina will join the next wave for 2027.

For now, Panthers fans can only speculate. But with a fresh look potentially on the horizon, it might be time to start thinking about what a modernized Panthers uniform could really mean for game-day style.
