Palm Beach County brought the heat at the FHSAA Class 4A track and field state championships, with local athletes claiming five event titles and delivering performances that will be remembered for seasons to come.

Spanish River's Preston Sangely was the star of the show, securing an impressive double victory in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs. The senior standout added more hardware to his decorated career, finishing second in the 4x800-meter relay and third in the 3200-meter—coming within a second of first place in both events. His brother Casey joined him on the podium in the 800-meter race, finishing second in a memorable family moment.

Park Vista's field event specialists also made their mark. Jeremiah Lysius completed a flawless season by winning the high jump state title—he didn't lose a single one of the 15 events he entered this year. Chase Bureau matched that dominance in the javelin, winning 11 of his 12 events and capping it all with a state championship.

The Spanish River girls' 4x800-meter relay team added another title to the county's haul, while the boys' team finished as Class 4A state runner-up—an incredible feat considering they competed with just five athletes. The Sharks' girls team also impressed, finishing fourth overall.

Other Palm Beach County athletes who made waves include: Makaela Morilla (2:13.77 in the 800m), Alba Antunez-Perez (4:52.38 in the 1600m and 10:32.14 in the 3200m), Lailani Levy (10:39.53 in the 3200m), Joliana Simon (137'10" in the discus), I-jah Marseille (10.55 in the 100m), and Shedner Gerilus (47.86 in the 400m).

From distance runners to field event specialists, Palm Beach County proved it's a powerhouse on the track—and we can't wait to see what these athletes do next season.
