The San Diego Padres put on an offensive clinic Tuesday night, tying season highs with 14 hits and 10 runs in a commanding 10-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants. It was the kind of performance that gets fans—and their gear—buzzing.

Jackson Merrill led the charge with three hits and two RBIs, while Xander Bogaerts added a home run to the mix. The breakout star, however, was 29-year-old South Korean infielder Sung-Mun Song, who delivered a two-run double for his first MLB hit in the fourth inning. Song, who signed with the Padres in December, went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, advancing to third on a throwing error and scoring on Merrill's single to cap a five-run frame that put San Diego ahead 6-4.

Miguel Andujar also got in on the action, collecting a single, double, and triple while driving in a run. Bogaerts and Nick Castellanos each chipped in two RBIs, spreading the wealth across a lineup that looked unstoppable.

On the mound, Walker Buehler (2-2) battled through 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs while striking out five. The win marked the Padres' second straight after snapping a six-game skid with a 3-2 victory Monday night. San Diego has now dominated the Giants, going 40-23 against them since the 2022 season.

For San Francisco, Logan Webb (2-4) struggled, surrendering six runs and seven hits over just four innings. The Giants' bright spot was catcher Jesús Rodríguez, who rebounded from an 0-for-4 MLB debut Monday with an RBI single in the second inning and a solo homer in the seventh. Casey Schmitt also went deep with a two-run shot in the first inning.

The series finale Wednesday features Padres right-hander Matt Waldron (0-1, 9.88 ERA) against Giants righty Adrian Houser (0-3, 7.12). If Tuesday's offensive explosion is any indication, fans should expect more fireworks—and maybe a few new favorite jerseys to celebrate.
