The 2026 NFL Draft came and went and the Green Bay Packers did not add to the quarterback position.

That's not entirely surprising considering they already have a franchise quarterback in place in Jordan Love. What the team is lacking is a viable backup in the wake of Malik Willis taking his talents to South Beach.

As things stand now, the Packers will bank on one of Desmond Ridder or Kyle McCord, two journeymen signal-callers who wouldn't make most rosters.

Those options simply aren't good enough for a Packers team that is looking to compete for big things in 2026 and can't let its season be derailed by a bad quarterback in the event Love gets hurt for any period of time.

After Green Bay barely made the playoffs last season, we know the margin of error is tiny in the NFL and one missed game for Love could be the difference between the Packers missing or making the playoffs.

Three teams to keep an eye on are the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles, all of whom may have a quarterback available for trade, NFL Draft on SI's Justin Melo says.

Those three quarterbacks are Aidan O'Connell, Tanner McKee and Mason Rudolph. Melo also mentions Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel, but the Packers shouldn't be interested after what we saw out of him last season.

In Pittsburgh, the Steelers still don't have an answer from Aaron Rodgers, but the future Hall of Famer is expected to return to the team for another season.

If that happens, Rudolph could be expendable. After all, the Steelers would be wise to keep both of their young quarterbacks, Will Howard and 2026 draft pick Drew Allar, as both at least give hope for a long-term solution under center.

The Eagles made the surprising move to trade for Andy Dalton last month.

That was not expected because Philly figured to have its backup situation behind Jalen Hurts figured out with McKee. Now, many are wondering if McKee might get moved at some point, as it makes no sense to carry a third quarterback.

As for O'Connell, the Raiders added two quarterbacks this offseason with Fernando Mendoza and Kirk Cousins, which leaves O'Connell on the outside looking in when it comes to earning a roster spot. His days in Vegas are most certainly numbered.

Of these three options, Rudolph is the most proven, as he has weathered the storm in Pittsburgh before. That is exactly what the doctor ordered for a win-now team like Green Bay.
