Defender Lisa Owen will end her 12-year stint with Cardiff City Women when her contact expires this summer. The 28-year-old has helped the Bluebirds win three Adran Premier titles, the Adran Trophy, six Bute Energy Welsh Cups, as well as reaching the Women's Champions League three times. Scoring on her return in December 2022 after giving birth was among Owen's Cardiff highlights.

After an incredible 12-year journey with Cardiff City Women, defender Lisa Owen is set to depart the club when her contract expires this summer. The 28-year-old has been a cornerstone of the Bluebirds' success, helping the team secure three Adran Premier titles, the Adran Trophy, and six Bute Energy Welsh Cups. Her contributions also extended to European competition, with three appearances in the Women's Champions League.

One of Owen's most memorable moments came in December 2022 when she scored on her return to the pitch after giving birth—a highlight that perfectly captures her resilience and dedication. Reflecting on her time with the club, Owen told Cardiff City TV, "It's been amazing. I've loved every minute of it, and it's been a huge journey." She noted how much the Adran Premier has evolved, saying, "There was a time when you could predict who would win, but now it's so competitive. Teams are always taking points off each other, and every game is difficult. This year has been the most competitive it's ever been, and it's great to see that."

Owen also shared her gratitude for the support she received throughout her career. "Coming back after having a baby and scoring that goal on my return was so special. Scoring at Cardiff City Stadium was another big moment for me. The team have been there for me the whole time, and they've seen me grow both as a player and as a person," she said. "From the bottom of my heart, I'm so grateful for our support—those who come to our games, home and away, and all the players' families. The backing they've given me and my teammates has been second to none, and I can't thank them enough."

The club expressed their appreciation for Owen's contributions, thanking her for her "huge contribution to our success." As she prepares for the next chapter of her career, her legacy at Cardiff City Women will undoubtedly be remembered as one of commitment, triumph, and inspiration.
