Tennessee State's Aaron Nkrumah is making waves as he's reportedly been added to the 2026 G League combine roster. The senior guard, who just earned Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year honors, will now get his shot to prove he belongs among the nation's top prospects.

Nkrumah's numbers this season are nothing short of impressive. He averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, three assists, and 2.8 steals per game while shooting 35.1% from beyond the arc. He didn't just lead the OVC in scoring—he also ranked second in the entire country with 92 steals. That's the kind of two-way game that gets scouts talking.

The 6-foot-6 guard wasn't on the initial list of 44 invitees for the combine, which kicks off Friday in Chicago. But now he's in, and he'll have the chance to showcase his skills in 5-on-5 games, strength and agility drills, shooting exercises, and more. It's a golden opportunity to climb the draft boards.

This season, Nkrumah was the driving force behind Tennessee State's first NCAA Tournament appearance in 32 years. He recorded 14 games with 20 or more points and was one of just two Division I players to average at least 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, and 2.5 steals per game. That's elite company.

His journey is the kind of story that makes sports special. A Massachusetts native, Nkrumah started his college career at Worcester State in Division III. After transferring to Tennessee State, he steadily improved, jumping from 10.9 points per game as a junior to 17.7 as a senior under first-year head coach Nolan Smith. Now he's on the NBA radar.

The top performers at the G League combine will earn invites to the draft combine, scheduled for May 10-17 in Chicago. Last year, players like Yanic Konan Niederhäuser and Ryan Nembhard used that stage to advance their careers. Nkrumah will be looking to follow in their footsteps.
