The WNBA is on the brink of a historic season, and the excitement is palpable. As the league celebrates its 30th anniversary, players are stepping into the spotlight like never before—thanks to record-breaking salaries, blockbuster team moves, and a surge of young talent ready to make their mark. But before the first tip-off, our team of women's basketball experts—Annie Costabile, Brian Hamilton, Chantel Jennings, and Sabreena Merchant—have cast their votes to reveal the preseason All-WNBA teams. And here's the headline: the veterans are still running the show.

Seven of the ten players selected have at least eight seasons of experience under their belts. That includes 14-year veteran Nneka Ogwumike and 12-year star Alyssa Thomas, both proving that age is just a number. Breanna Stewart is entering her 10th season, while A’ja Wilson kicks off her ninth—and neither shows any signs of slowing down. Yes, the league's younger stars are rising fast, but the old guard isn't ready to hand over the crown just yet.

Honorable mentions this season include Kahleah Copper (Phoenix Mercury), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), Rhyne Howard (Atlanta Dream), Veronica Burton (Golden State Valkyries), and Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever)—all players to watch as the season unfolds.

Now, let's talk about the player who continues to redefine greatness: A’ja Wilson. Coming off her fourth regular-season MVP award and her fourth consecutive All-WNBA first-team selection, Wilson is simply unstoppable. She also claimed the WNBA Finals MVP, earned a spot on the All-Defensive first team, and shared the Defensive Player of the Year award. Over the past four seasons, she has led the Las Vegas Aces to three championships in four years, proving there's no area of the game she can't dominate.

Defensively, Wilson is a force of nature, leading the league in blocks per game for four straight seasons. Offensively, she made the paint her personal playground in 2025, leading the league with 937 total points and averaging 23.4 points per game. Her footwork is elite, her interior scoring efficiency unmatched—she shot an incredible 76% within three feet of the rim and 51.5% from three to ten feet. And while she rarely steps back beyond the arc (just 25 three-point attempts last season), she connected on 42.4% of them. The scariest part? Wilson isn't even 30 yet. She's just entering her prime, and the rest of the league has been put on notice.
