The Frederick Keys’ offense is on fire, lighting up the scoreboard for the second straight night with an 11-run explosion. After putting up nine runs on Tuesday, they followed it with another dominant performance, showcasing the depth of talent in the Orioles’ farm system.
Wehiwa Aloy and Vance Honeycutt both launched home runs, adding some serious power to the lineup. Elis Cuevas was a standout, collecting three of the Keys’ 10 hits while crossing the plate twice and driving in two runs. Ike Irish went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored, while Cuevas, Ryan Stafford, and Maikol Hernández all chipped in with extra-base hits.
On the mound, Boston Bateman earned the win with five solid innings. He allowed four runs—only one earned—on seven hits, walking two and striking out four. Twine Palmer turned heads with four scoreless innings of relief, fanning six batters while walking just two.
Meanwhile, the Double-A Bowie Baysox staged a dramatic comeback, scoring two runs in the eighth inning to edge the Altoona Curve 4-3. Brandon Butterworth, Frederick Bencosme, and Ethan Anderson each walked to load the bases. Anderson De Los Santos then grounded into a force out that brought in Butterworth, and Aron Estrada drove in the go-ahead run with another ground ball.
Ethan Anderson got the Baysox on the board early with a solo homer in the bottom of the first. Estrada was the only player with a multi-hit game, collecting two singles.
Juaron Watts-Brown turned in a solid start, limiting Altoona to just two hits over 4.1 innings. The former Blue Jays prospect walked four but allowed only one run while striking out six. Tyson Neighbors gave up a run over 1.2 innings, and Cohen Achen recorded five outs without allowing a hit. Zane Barnhart notched the win with 1.1 scoreless frames.
Lonnie White Jr., a former Penn State wide receiver commit, finished 2-for-4 for Altoona.
In Low-A action, the Delmarva Shorebirds took control with a four-run fourth inning. Raylin Ramos gave Delmarva the lead with a home run, and the Shorebirds plated two more when Junior Aybar reached on an error. Despite recording only five hits, Delmarva drew eight walks. Félix Amparo drove in the first run with a double to right, Braylon Whitaker added a run-scoring single in the fourth, and DJ Layton provided some insurance.
Triple-A Norfolk’s game against Gwinnett was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.
