The High-A Frederick Keys were the lone bright spot in an otherwise tough night across the Orioles' farm system, securing a win powered by home runs from Ike Irish and Wehiwa Aloy.
Irish launched his fourth homer of the season—a two-run blast—while Aloy added a solo shot of his own, also his fourth. Colin Tuft chipped in with two hits, a walk, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Victor Figueroa doubled and drove in a run, and Braylin Tavera went 1-for-4 with a walk. Nearly every Frederick hitter reached base at least once in the winning effort, showcasing the kind of balanced attack that builds momentum for a young squad.
Elsewhere, it was a rougher ride. At Triple-A Norfolk, the Tides fell 7-4 to the Nashville Sounds despite nine hits and five walks. The lineup went 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position, a frustrating stat that left plenty of opportunities on the table. Jud Fabian provided a spark with his sixth home run of the year, driving in two runs, walking once, and scoring twice. Creed Willems and Jhonkensy Noel each added an RBI, while Jonathan Rodríguez and Christian Encarnacion-Strand collected two hits apiece. Encarnacion-Strand also drew a walk and now boasts a .905 OPS on the season.
On the mound for Norfolk, Nestor German delivered four mixed innings—allowing just one run on three hits with two strikeouts, but issuing six walks. Dietrich Enns gave up one run over two innings while striking out three, and Alex Pham also allowed one run in his two frames. Josh Walker struggled, recording just two outs and surrendering four runs, including a walk-off three-run homer.
In Double-A Bowie, the Baysox managed just four hits in their loss. Aron Estrada provided the highlight with his third home run of the year. Adam Retzbach and Ethan Anderson each doubled and scored a run, while Thomas Sosa drove in the team's only other RBI. On the mound, Luis De León started and went 3.1 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits, three walks, four strikeouts, and two home runs, pushing his ERA to 6.52. Micah Ashman turned in the day's most impressive relief outing, striking out three over 1.2 shutout innings. Yaqui Rivera followed with a perfect frame, striking out all three batters he faced. Eric Torres gave up two runs (one earned) over 1.2 innings before Carlos Tavera recorded the final out of the eighth.
It was a night of ups and downs across the system, but the Keys' win—fueled by power from Irish and Aloy—offers a glimpse of the exciting young talent developing in the Orioles' pipeline.
