The Baltimore Orioles have made a roster move to address their bullpen depth, placing left-handed reliever Grant Wolfram on the 15-day injured list due to a lower back strain. In a corresponding move, the team has recalled right-handed pitcher Tyler Wells from Triple-A Norfolk.

Wolfram, a towering 6-foot-7, 250-pound southpaw, has been a reliable arm out of the bullpen this season, posting a 1-1 record with a 4.85 ERA across 16 appearances. Despite the elevated ERA, his command has been impressive, striking out 20 batters while issuing just one walk in 13 innings of work. His last outing came on May 6, and the IL move has been retroactively applied to Saturday, meaning he could be eligible to return as early as next week.

Stepping into the roster spot is Tyler Wells, who has already seen action with the Orioles this season. In 14 appearances with Baltimore, Wells has gone 0-1 with a solid 3.44 ERA, showing the kind of consistency that makes him a valuable bullpen piece. He was optioned to Norfolk on May 2 but now gets another chance to contribute at the major league level.

For Orioles fans, this swap brings a fresh arm to the bullpen just as the team navigates a busy stretch of the schedule. Wells' ability to eat innings and keep games close could be a key factor in the coming days.
