The Oregon Ducks softball team isn't ready to say goodbye to their home field just yet. As the No. 14 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, the Ducks have earned the right to host the Eugene Regional at Jane Sanders Stadium from May 15-17.

This announcement came during the live bracket reveal show on ESPN2 on May 10, and it's a well-deserved honor for a team that has been dominant all season. With a 40-12 record, Oregon has proven they can compete with the best, and now they'll have the home crowd behind them as they chase a trip to the Women's College World Series.

The Ducks will kick off their regional action on Friday, May 15, at 7 p.m. PT against Idaho State (37-18). Before that, Mississippi State (38-18) and St. Mary's (40-14) will face off at 4:30 p.m. PT in the other first-round matchup. The double-elimination format means every game is do-or-die, so expect high energy and intense play from the opening pitch.

Oregon enters the tournament with a chip on their shoulder after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament by Wisconsin on May 7. Still, their strong regular season—finishing tied for second in the conference standings with UCLA and behind Nebraska—shows they have what it takes to make a deep run.

The Ducks are part of a strong Big Ten contingent in the tournament, with seven teams selected overall. Nebraska (No. 4 seed) and UCLA (No. 8 seed) are also positioned as hosts for potential super regionals, while Indiana, Washington, Michigan, and Wisconsin round out the conference's representation.

The regional schedule is set for a thrilling weekend of softball, with the winner advancing to the super regional round from May 21-24. For Oregon fans, this is a chance to see their team shine on the biggest stage—right in their own backyard. Whether you're cheering from the stands or repping your Ducks gear, this is postseason softball at its finest.
