In a move that solidifies their future under center, the Ole Miss Rebels have landed a commitment from talented quarterback Crews Jenkins, a three-star prospect out of Brentwood Academy in Tennessee. The announcement came Wednesday, marking a significant win for head coach Lane Kiffin and defensive coordinator Pete Golding as they fend off competition from South Florida and, notably, in-state powerhouse Vanderbilt.
Jenkins, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 200 pounds, brings an impressive resume to Oxford. As a junior, he was a precision passer, completing 70 percent of his throws for over 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns. His leadership guided the Eagles to an impressive 11-1 record, showcasing the kind of poise and production that catches the eye of SEC recruiters. While the Rebels already have a commitment from Keegan Croucher—a top-50 national quarterback prospect—Jenkins saw the opportunity to compete in a program known for developing signal-callers as too good to pass up.
“I think just the opportunity to compete,” Jenkins shared with Rivals' Steve Wiltfong last month. “Coach Judge has been the most consistent in recruiting me along with Coach Schoonie. I feel like all the coaches are great at developing quarterbacks and have a great background of doing so. Also Coach Pete is a players guy and cares for you.”
According to the Rivals Industry Ranking—a composite of all three major recruiting services—Jenkins is the No. 1127 overall prospect in the 2027 class. He also ranks as the nation's No. 73 quarterback and the No. 41 recruit in the state of Tennessee. For Ole Miss fans, this commitment signals a deep and competitive quarterback room in the years to come, a hallmark of a program that continues to build for sustained success in the SEC.
