The Bundesliga rumor mill is heating up, and at the center of it all is 16-year-old midfield prodigy Kennet Eichhorn. Borussia Dortmund have publicly confirmed their admiration for the Hertha Berlin starlet, widely regarded as one of Germany's brightest young talents.

Speaking to Ruhr Nachrichten, BVB sporting director Ole Book didn't hide his enthusiasm. "I do think he has a certain creativity," Book said. "We know him well, we like him. Like probably many other clubs, we like the player. We'll see about everything else."

It's no surprise that Dortmund are in the mix—they've built a reputation for developing young talent. But they're far from alone in the race. Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig are also tracking Eichhorn, who reportedly has a release clause set between €10 million and €12 million. Adding another layer of intrigue, Sky Germany reports that Manchester City could potentially sign the teenager and loan him directly to Leverkusen, capitalizing on their strong relationship from previous loan deals involving Farid Alfa-Ruprecht and Claudio Echeverri.

Eichhorn made his 2. Bundesliga debut under Stefan Leitl in August 2025 at just 16 years and 14 days old, becoming one of the youngest players ever to feature in the league. Since then, he has logged 15 appearances and 999 minutes for Hertha, showing both promise and grit with seven yellow cards already to his name.

Valued at €20 million on Transfermarkt, the defensive midfielder's stock is rising fast. It's not just German clubs circling either—Real Madrid, Manchester United, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal have all been linked. For a player who just broke into professional football, Eichhorn is already drawing the kind of attention that signals a truly special career ahead.
