The Oklahoma Sooners made the right decision to go after 2027 edge rusher Krew Jones, as he looks like he could play right now.

The Oklahoma Sooners have a future star on their hands—and he might already be ready for the big stage. Krew Jones, a four-star edge rusher from Millville, Utah, committed to OU's 2027 class, and his recent camp performance has everyone talking.

At 6'4" and 225 pounds, Jones possesses the ideal frame for an SEC edge rusher—long arms, explosive power, and a motor that doesn't quit. While some scouts question the level of competition he faces in high school, Jones has silenced doubters at camps where he goes head-to-head with elite talent. In his latest video, he's absolutely dominating offensive linemen, tossing them aside like they're not even there. One play even shows him pancaking a blocker—a move usually reserved for the guys on the other side of the ball.

Jones currently ranks as the No. 20 edge in his class and the No. 2 player in Utah for 2027. He's already bigger and stronger than most seniors, and with SEC-caliber weight training on the horizon, he's only going to get more terrifying for opposing quarterbacks. The Sooners also landed 2026 edge Dane Bathurst, but Jones is the one generating serious buzz right now.

At a recent All-Star camp, Jones lined up alongside future teammate and current Sooners edge Jake Kreul. While Kreul made his presence felt in the UA All-American game, Jones held his own, recording a sack by tracking the quarterback as he scrambled out of the pocket. Together, they gave fans a glimpse of what Oklahoma's pass rush could look like in the near future.

Jones is faster, stronger, and more explosive than ever. He's proving that he's not just a prospect—he's a player who could contribute right now. For Sooners fans, that's a very exciting thought.
