The Oklahoma Sooners are making a push for one of the most talented cornerbacks in the 2027 recruiting class.

The Oklahoma Sooners are building serious momentum on the recruiting trail, and the 2027 class is already heating up. With new assistant coaches making an immediate impact in Norman, the buzz is growing around one of the nation's top cornerback prospects.

Cornerbacks coach Lamar Morgan has been a key difference-maker, leveraging a relationship that started during his time with the Michigan Wolverines. That connection has helped the Sooners secure an official visit from Fort Lauderdale's Bryce Williams, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound four-star cornerback who has quickly become a priority target.

According to Chad Simmons of Rivals, Oklahoma's aggressive approach this spring has paid off. "The Sooners have been aggressive this spring, getting down to see Williams multiple times and ramping up communication," Simmons reported. "That consistent push has landed, and sources say Oklahoma has quickly worked its way into a neck-and-neck battle with Nebraska at the top."

Williams isn't just any recruit—he's a physical, instinctive corner who excels at playing the ball in the air. His highlight reel shows impressive speed, sharp instincts, and a knack for disrupting catches while keeping his eyes locked on the quarterback. He's also a willing and physical contributor in run support, making him a natural fit for Brent Venables' defensive scheme.

With offers from 36 Power Four programs, including stiff competition from Clemson and Nebraska, the Sooners have positioned themselves as serious contenders just a week after making their offer. As the 2027 recruiting cycle heats up, all eyes will be on Norman to see if Morgan and the staff can seal the deal on this blue-chip talent.
