The top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners' bats fell quiet in a 6-4 Bedlam loss to Oklahoma State on Wednesday night, marking the program's first two-game losing streak of the season. The Cowgirls' Ruby Meylan delivered a complete-game gem, holding the powerful OU lineup to just four runs on seven hits and striking out nine, including star hitter Ella Parker three times.

Oklahoma's offense, which has now scored four or fewer runs in three of its last four games, struggled to capitalize on opportunities. The Sooners went just 4-for-12 with runners on base and 2-for-7 with runners in scoring position. All of OU's scoring came from two swings: a two-run homer by Kendall Wells and a two-run double from Abby Dayton.

The pitching staff also faced challenges, allowing more than four runs for the second consecutive game. Starter Miali Guachino took her first loss of the year, while the bullpen couldn't stem the tide against a determined OSU attack.

Head coach Patty Gasso pointed to a potential letdown after the emotional high of a series win over Texas and the new No. 1 ranking. "I feel like we came in a little bit lethargic," Gasso said. "A little bit like, 'we got this.'... We got bowed up on, and that is okay because we had to see what it looked like and learn how to punch back a little bit better."

For a program with championship standards, two straight losses are a rare wake-up call. The Sooners will look to rediscover their trademark fight as they turn the page to a tough weekend slate against Arkansas, Georgia, and Texas A&M.
