The couple is staying at the exclusive Amanyara resort in Providenciales, a favorite hideaway for celebrities and athletes seeking privacy and luxury. Lauren shared glimpses of their vacation on Instagram Stories, captioning the scenic shots with "home for the week." In one photo, McDavid was seen looking relaxed in a light t-shirt, dark shorts, and white sneakers—a far cry from his usual game-day gear.
McDavid and Kyle's love story began back in 2015, during his rookie NHL season, when they met at a mutual friend's celebration party. They moved into their custom-designed Edmonton home in 2017, with Kyle taking the lead on the interior design. Their relationship hit another high note in 2023 when McDavid proposed during a family vacation in Chicago, and the couple tied the knot the following year with a multi-day celebration on a private island in Muskoka, Ontario.
This relaxing break comes after a rollercoaster season for both McDavid and the Oilers. Edmonton entered the 2025-26 campaign with sky-high expectations, having made back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances in 2024 and 2025. But injuries and inconsistency derailed their championship hopes, leading to a disappointing first-round playoff exit against the Anaheim Ducks in six games.
Despite the team's struggles, McDavid was a force on the ice. He led the NHL with 138 points, earning yet another Art Ross Trophy, and represented Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics, where he took home MVP honors.
