Officials officially unveiled the newly relocated Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame on Thursday, now housed at the state-of-the-art Enmarket Arena. The revamped exhibit features gleaming plaques that honor the region’s most outstanding athletes, celebrating the community’s deep-rooted sports legacy in a space that’s built for today’s fans.

But the biggest win? The new location itself. Gone are the days when the Hall of Fame was tucked away in a hard-to-reach spot. “Years ago, at the civic center, it was upstairs and the only time anybody ever saw it was if they went to a banquet,” said Sammy Strode, President of the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame. “Now, with people coming in and out all the time for concerts and hockey games, this exhibit is right in the heart of the action.”
