The Italian national team's summer schedule is now set, with the Azzurri heading abroad for two crucial friendly matches this June. These games represent the first steps for the squad under interim leadership as they look to rebuild.

Italy will first travel to face Luxembourg at the Stade de Luxembourg on Monday, June 3rd, with kick-off at 20:45 CET. They will then head to Greece to play at the Pankritio Stadium in Candia on Friday, June 7th, also at 20:45 CET. These away fixtures offer a fresh challenge for the team.

With the search for a permanent head coach ongoing, Italy U21 boss Silvio Baldini will take the reins for these two matches. This follows the resignations of manager Gennaro Gattuso and FIGC President Gabriele Gravina after Italy's heartbreaking failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, a major setback for the four-time champions.

The new permanent manager, to be appointed after the FIGC presidential election on June 22nd, will officially begin his tenure in September. His debut will be a high-profile Nations League opener against Belgium on Friday, September 25th, followed by a trip to face Turkey on Monday, September 28th. The June friendlies are a vital opportunity for players to impress ahead of this new cycle.
