Oaks Christian boys lacrosse is heading back to the championship stage, and this time they're looking to add another trophy to the cabinet. The top-seeded Lions punched their ticket to the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 finals with a commanding 11-6 victory over host Placentia-El Dorado in the semifinals on Saturday night.

The stars of the show were Chase Macleod and Greg DeGroote, who each delivered a stellar performance with four goals and two assists. Their offensive firepower proved too much for the Golden Hawks to handle, setting up a showdown that Oaks Christian has been eyeing all season.

"We're going back," said Geoff Sebold, Oaks Christian's director of lacrosse, capturing the determination that has fueled this team's playoff run.

This marks the Lions' second CIF-SS championship appearance in three years, a testament to the program's consistent excellence. They'll face off against Dana Hills (20-3) on May 15 or 16 at Fred Kelly Stadium in Orange, with the exact date still to be announced by CIF-SS.

From the opening whistle, Oaks Christian (10-6) set the tone, jumping out to a 3-0 lead. But the game wasn't without its tense moments. After holding an 8-5 advantage through three quarters, the Lions flexed their defensive muscles in the final frame, outscoring El Dorado 3-1 to seal the victory.

"It had some ups and downs for sure," Sebold admitted. "We jumped down quick and they came back. Our defense played really well and started clamping down in the fourth quarter."

For lacrosse fans and gear enthusiasts alike, this is a team that knows how to perform under pressure. Whether you're hitting the field yourself or cheering from the stands, there's plenty of inspiration in this Lions squad's playoff grit. Stay tuned for the championship date, and get ready to witness history in the making.
