Katie O'Kane scored a pair of goals and Racing Louisville won its second match of the NWSL season with a 3-1 victory over the first-place Portland Thorns on Friday night. Emma Sears also scored for Louisville (2-5-1), which snapped a two-game losing streak with the win at home. Wilson has three goals in four matches.

In a thrilling Friday night showdown, Racing Louisville delivered a statement performance, handing the league-leading Portland Thorns a 3-1 defeat at home. The victory not only snapped Louisville's two-game losing streak but also marked just their second win of the NWSL season, proving that this squad is finding its rhythm at the perfect time.

Katie O'Kane was the star of the show, netting her first career brace with two stunning goals. After Portland's Sophia Wilson opened the scoring in the sixth minute—outpacing defender Arin Wright for her third goal in just four matches—O'Kane answered back in the 15th minute to level the score. Then, in the 76th minute, she curled a direct free kick into the top corner, a moment of pure class that put Louisville ahead for good.

Emma Sears, who came off the bench in the 66th minute, added an exclamation point with a stoppage-time goal to seal the victory. It was a night of resilience and attacking flair for Louisville (2-5-1), who showed they can hang with the best after a tough start to the season.

Meanwhile, across the league, Barbra Banda continues to dominate. The Orlando Pride striker scored her league-leading eighth goal of the season in the 87th minute, a bouncing strike to the far post that secured a 1-0 win over the North Carolina Courage. The match was played in pouring rain through the first half, but the weather cleared just in time for Orlando (3-2-3) to up the pressure and snap their own two-game losing streak. Marta nearly broke the deadlock earlier, forcing a sharp save from Courage goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan in the 61st minute, but it was Banda who once again proved why she's the NWSL's most dangerous finisher.
