Matchweek five in the NWSL gave us great moments, which moment was your favorite?
Portland’s win in Los Angeles was not the only news coming from that game. Sophia Wilson’s goal in stoppage time, the winning tally for the Thorns, traveled the league far and wide.

The USWNT and the Thorns’ striker found the back of the net again for the first time since November 2024.
Although the Pride lost against Racing Louisville, Barbra Banda had a good night. The Zambian scored a brace and in that way, she jumped to the No. 1 position in the top goalscorer table with five tallies.
North Carolina’s Ashley Sanchez, Houston Dash’s Kiki Van Zanten, San Diego’s Lia Godfrey, and Denver Summit’s Melissa Kössler follow closely with four dimes each.
Paige Cronin stunned Seattle Reign after scoring in the first minute of the game. Six minutes later, Narumi Miura shot from downtown and doubled the lead. It was almost the end of the first half when Utah made things 3-0.

This was the biggest franchise win in its history and this win teleported them to the third spot in the table.
Washington Spirit’s Trinity Rodman is well known for her goal celebrations and this time it was no exception. The Spirit won 4-0 against Kansas City last Friday and the capital team’s marquee player npot only scored but registered an assist.

Her celly was one to remember, after she emulated Ben Shelton’s iconic “phone” celebration.
Denver thought they were going to walk away with an important win against one of the league’s best teams, the San Diego Wave.
With a 2-0 lead at halftime, it seemed likely. However, the Californian club rolled up its sleeves right after the second half and turned things around.

Of course, they had some help from the opponent when Carson Pickett scored an own goal in the 65th minute, which proved to be the Wave’s winning goal.
San Diego is at the top of the wave now with 15 points, and has extended its winning streak to five matches. Second is Portland with 13 points and both teams will play each other next Wednesday.
