April was a month to remember in the NWSL, with standout performances lighting up the league. From clutch goals to rock-solid defending, here's a look at the top honors awarded for the month.

Player of the Month: Ashley Sanchez (North Carolina Courage)

Ashley Sanchez was on fire in April, scoring in three consecutive matches to earn Player of the Month honors. The North Carolina Courage star netted the game-winner against Houston and added goals against Boston and Portland, powering her team to an unbeaten month. Her consistency in front of goal was a key factor in the Courage's rise up the standings.

Coach of the Month: Adrián González (Washington Spirit)

Washington Spirit head coach Adrián González masterfully guided his squad to an unbeaten April, earning him Coach of the Month recognition. Under his leadership, the Spirit posted three clean sheets and scored seven goals, climbing to third place in the table by month's end. A strong defensive foundation and sharp attacking play defined their run.

Rookie of the Month: Jordynn Dudley (Gotham FC)

Gotham FC's Jordynn Dudley made her mark in April, scoring her first professional goal against Chicago and adding an assist in a win over Bay FC. The 21-year-old forward's clutch performances have already made a strong case for a regular starting spot with the Bats.

NWSL Best XI for April

The league's top performers for April also earned spots on the Best XI, headlined by Washington Spirit goalkeeper Sandy MacIver, who recorded three clean sheets in three starts. She was backed by a formidable defensive line featuring Spirit defenders Esme Morgan and Tara Rudd, along with Portland Thorns center-back Sam Hiatt and San Diego Wave's Kennedy Wesley. This group anchored some of the most stingy defenses in the league during the month.

Whether you're cheering for a Player of the Month or just love the game, April's action set the stage for an exciting season ahead.
