Clemson football is still hanging around for one of the better defensive backs in the 2027 class.
Four-star safety Jayden Aparicio Bailey has cut his recruitment down to 5 schools, with Clemson making the group alongside Georgia, Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina. Aparicio Bailey is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound safety out of Prattville High School in Alabama.
Right now, Georgia looks like the team in the best spot. Rivals has the Bulldogs with the top prediction at 30.5 percent, while Clemson sits second at 18 percent. That obviously means the Tigers aren't in pole position, but it does mean the Tigers are still very much in the conversation.
Clemson has been involved here for a while. The Tigers and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed have been in contact with Aparicio Bailey since early June 2025, and Clemson hosted him for a school camp before offering him after a strong weekend performance.

Aparicio Bailey is listed by 247Sports as a 4-star prospect with a 90 rating. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 133 overall player in the country, the No. 9 safety, and the No. 6 player in Alabama.

For Clemson, this would be a strong defensive back pickup in the 2027 class. Georgia may be the early favorite, but Clemson making the final group keeps the Tigers in the fight for a long, highly rated safety with real upside.
