World Junior champion Filip Nowacki has officially arrived on the senior stage, claiming his first British title with a commanding victory in the 200m breaststroke at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships.

The 18-year-old from Jersey powered to gold, finishing 0.99 seconds ahead of 2025 champion Greg Butler, with Christian Ryan taking third. This breakthrough win marks a significant step up for Nowacki, who had previously finished second to the legendary Adam Peaty in both the 50m and 100m breaststroke events earlier in the meet.

"It's always great to battle out with Greg, Ryan and the rest," Nowacki said after the race. "The field is so strong these days, so it was a great swim. There's work to do with my times and my underwaters, but I definitely want to just improve the time and carry my momentum forwards into the summer."
